It's clearly a brown sugar cube, with a tiny bit of milk spilling over the side and making a small square shaped pool next to the cup. That's logically all it can be.

Some coffee drinks are made with espresso, hot water, and either milk or foam. I'm assuming it's for this, as that's all I use it for on my machine. Tea is made with a kettle, as is decreed by law and also God.

With regard to Voyager, Samantha Wildman was a xenobiologist, and from videos of conventions I've watched she was only invented as a reason to include the first child born on Voyager, they wanted Naomi, Samantha was the conduit for that.

Data had several different makeup styles before being his known colour, I think if they wanted to make him pure science in a blue uniform they could have made it work
