Christmas time is coming up, so i'd like to throw my Krampus girl Selej into the ring 🌲👹

Wish me luck, I'm having fun
Bonus Augmented triangular prism (J49) in my cat's colours

Triangular hebesphenorotunda
For the last shape of the month it only fits to have the last polyhedron in Johnson's list, and arguably the most beautiful one. Also the only convex polyhedron to feature regular triangles, squares, pentagons and hexagons

Truncated cube
Not a very complicated shape, but the number of octahedrons make it difficult to construct. I think we've reached the end of what the air-dry clay (and my hands) can safely hold. Not sure how I'm going to make the even larger ones

Parabiaugmented Hexagonal Prism
A good chunk of Johnson solids are just more normal polyhedra that have various hats on. This hexagonal prism sports two pyramids on its side, but there are also variants with one or three pyramids

Augmented dodecahedron
Not super happy with this one - I think it's a bit too tall. Dodecahedra are unforgiving to construct, you have to eyeball the angles and hope for the best instead of relying on the support constructions for the correct lengths and angles
Rainbow colours though

Tridiminished icosahedron
A few days ago I said that the Bilunabirotunda was the only shape with pentagon-pentagon-triangle corners. That is clearly wrong: this one has six (!) of those (red and purple).
It was something half-remembered that I didn't look up to confirm. How negligent

Icosidodecahedron
Biggest boy so far.
My support constructions get more elaborate as I move to larger models. I use Barbie-flavoured dough for extra vertices - it's more stable than the clay when soft and helps ilthe clay harden in the correct shape

Sphenocorona
One of the more odd Johnson solids.
The joints in my models are coloured in a way that vertices that are identical with respect to symmetry get the same colour. For instace the orange corners have a mirror plane between them.

Triaugmented triangular prism
Apart from the Platonic solids, there are five convex polyhedra that are made entirely out of equilateral triangles. This one looks like a thicc Triforce

Rhombic cuboctahedron
Getting more confident with making larger shapes as I'm getting more familiar with the clay and figuring out better support structures (that I keep forgetting to photograph)

Bilunabirotunda
A lovely shape, and the only regular-faced polyhedron with two pentagons and one triangle sharing a corner (the yellow balls).
It consists of two Lunae (triangle-square-triangle band) and two Rotundae (two pentagons and two triangles sharing a corner (blue))

Cuboctahedron
An incredibly satisfying shape. Its radius is the same as its edge length, so you can make a support construct by simply connecting every vertex to the central point. Also looks mesmerizing

Pentagrammic antiprism
Double feature today. You can make an antiprism from a shape by stacking two of them, slightly offset and connecting them with triangles. Usually there is just one way to do it, but for some star shapes there are two ways, one saner one and one squat and scary

Square pyramid
Didn't have time to do something elaborate today, so it's gonna be the most famous Johnson solid instead

Truncated tetrahedron
My first Archimedean solid. I had to build it in stages cause any face larger than a square gets very unstable very quickly
