The UK economic problem of our age. Fix productivity and a lot of the rest of the problems go away imo

This is a fantastic article to see the week after M&S told me not to expect their jeans to last more than a year 🙃

A big part of the value of these universities is bringing lots of similarly-minded people together, and so whilst good intentioned, I’m not sure this would work.

Not Oxbridge, but Durham had a college in Stockton for a few years and even at a comparatively shorter distance, it didn’t work great.

Of course, data getting incredibly cheaper over time is nothing new - just look at how the price of computer memory has changed over time.

And then today, you can get 40GB for £8 a month.

Comparing this to 2018, it means you can pay £0.20/GB vs £10/GB six years ago - which is 50 times cheaper!

Roll on 2022, and 15GB for £8, 2023, 20GB for £8 and then 2024, 25GB for £8.

These would all go up 70-92p in April based on inflation, but it was still an incredible deal.

More data and a cheaper bill, why would I pay anything else?

In 2020, I signed up to my first monthly sim contract with O2, which gave me unlimited texts and minutes, with 10GB of data for £10.

I thought it was bonkers that I could get 10x the data for the exact same price - no brainer.
