They basically just get artistic licence with it. Once it's at least an attempt at one of the correct spellings, most people don't mind.

I don't care that my future is bright. I've been through too much of the present. I'm so tired.
How can I stay alive to save the people I love from being in pain?

I'm terrified because it's just made me want to die more. I want to stay alive. Partially because the future is bright. But mostly for the people who would be devastated to lose me.
But I don't really want to live. I just can't stand the damage that my death would do.
