Disagree strongly :) it depends on what kind of licorice… I love the salty Dutch licorice (called “drop”, I think) and really good pontefract cakes. But not the cheap standard stuff…

It turned out that “consent” meant they had to ask, but if the Scottish Parliament voted no, it didn’t actually block Westminster from anything in Scotland. Conventions are meaningless 2/2

In Scotland, Brexit showed us that “conventions” mean nothing when not backed by legal authority. The “Sewel convention” says “it is recognised that <Westminster> will not normally legislate with regard to devolved matters without the consent of the Scottish Parliament.” 1/2
