The Zen of Switch Modding. 🧵

One: Disassemble.
The most unrealistic thing about Marvel movies isn't the superhero stuff. It's that people would be whispering "Hail Hydra" instead of shouting it while waving Hydra flags. www.politico.com/news/2025/10...

I started assembling this for the Ars article the other day, and now it's done. Mode65 with copper plate and base, featuring GMK Copper R2 keycaps. The accents contain 10% real copper because why not I guess.

Should Google maybe just not appeal this case? May not make sense to spend the money on an appeal when the remedies are so modest.

For the first time, this feels like a foldable phone you'd want to carry around, but whether or not you can justify the $1,999 price tag is another matter entirely.

I got a keyboard made of forged carbon fiber, which is neat. I got a carbon fiber splinter assembling it, which is not as neat.

I just turned on a PC that's been off since February. Windows 11 has been updating and restarting for, no joke, over an hour now. It's sometimes hard to believe this is how a major operating system works in this, the year of our lord two-thousand and twenty-five.

Boop65 reassembled with 62g Zealios and Zeal stabilizers. Keycaps are GMK Nautilus. I love the yellow e-coating on this board.

After some troubleshooting, I finally have my Hibi Chopper assembled. This is a cute little 40% keyboard. The kit is only about $100, excluding potential tariffs (it's from Australia). It's pretty light and has a muted sound profile because the case is silicone. Neat.
