Flags should be banned from the crowd at Glastonbury. Nobody cares about your Oldham Athletic flag or flag advertising some random gym. Go away.

Interesting piece on crowd safety and festivals - I wonder whether the shift in age demographics at these events also plays a part? www.theguardian.com/music/2025/j...

There's going to be a brilliant comedy gig in Exeter on Wednesday 21 May featuring Mike Wozniak, Spencer Jones and a bunch of other comedians, to raise funds for the the comedy festival in June. There are plenty of tickets left so please spread the word! www.exetercornexchange.co.uk/whats-on/exe...

Only recently caught up with the second season of Alma’s Not Normal - it’s such a brilliant series, fantastic writing and superb performances. It also has that rare ability to have you crying with laughter one minute and crying with sadness and anger the next. Just brilliant.

This chap from Water UK talking on BBC Breakfast about the rise in water bills is the least convincing person I have seen for a while as he claims every single penny of the increase will go to preventing sewage entering waterways. All the while shareholders will expect more cash.

Just finished The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne. It’s no exaggeration to say it’s one of the best things I’ve ever read. Loved it, it made me laugh, it made me cry and was just a joy to read.

Really hope that the Government’s plans to restrict vulnerable and at risk children from being removed from school are implemented. As a parent who was unable to prevent my child from being taken out of school, despite social services involvement, this is very welcome.

Completely agree with Rachel de Souza on Newsnight, we need a national register of children taken out of school, especially when parents are doing this to disguise their abuse of their children.
