How high the moon. This jazz standard was written by Nancy Hamilton and Morgan Lewis in 1940. I arranged it for mandolin this week. I focused on chord melody but also borrowed a bit from Les Paul.

Erroll Garner’s composition, Misty, is probably my favorite melody in the jazz canon. A couple days ago, I decided to try out a chord melody arrangement for mandolin. It sits on the instrument really well.
