I am the President of the Georgia Federation of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE). I am a retired administrative judge with the US Merit Systems Protection Board.
One possible explanation is that Trump fired the Judge Advocate General of each of the military departments and replaced them with his own picks. Advising commanders on the law of land warfare is an important function of JAG officers.

It is also unconstitutional. Federal employees must be provided notice and an opportunity to be heard before being fired. Cleveland Board of Education v. Loudermill 470 U.S. 532 (1985). The law requires 30 days advance notice too. 5 USC sec. 7513

I am an Army veteran and believe that the majority of soldiers will follow the Constitution. But I am fearful because careerism is a powerful force and the pressure on career soldiers to succumb to this pressure will be overwhelming. And it will likely be the same with the other services.

These clowns know that virtually every statute has a sentence which says something like "the Department of [insert name] can promulgate regulations consistent with this statute." But they mislead the public into thinking that Federal employees published regulations on their own authority. Nonsense.

We also don't know when her supervisors became aware of it and when they had evidence to prove she actually sent it and not someone else with the same name. They would need legal review if the post was made off-duty misconduct, and to ensure she doesn't have a 1st Amendment defense.

It's harder to fire public employees because they have legal protections that private sector employees do not. The federal government, for example, has to give an employee a minimum of 30 days advance notice of a proposed removal.

I can't imagine how badly Patel's confirmation would undermine morale at DOJ, not to mention the long-term harm to the agency. DOJ must not be politicized.

While I dislike Hunter Biden for a variety of reasons, it is clear that he would not have been prosecuted if his last name were other than Biden. The pardon is understandable and appropriate.

I have no problem with differing perspectives. That is.a very good thing. It's the people who make up facts that I won't tolerate. As somebody (not me) said, "Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but nobody is entitled to their own facts."

I look forward to hearing alternative opinions from people, but not alternative facts.
