Nah, it just sorta ends.
Shaw has great premises, and they’re stories I would love.
Issue is the writing and characters.

I also read The Salt Grows Heavy. It had a great premise with interesting characters, but same issue as before. Writing felt overly pretentious at times. I’m fine with authors showing their large vocabulary, but it comes off more as her showing off than serving a purpose.
If that makes sense.

Nothing But Blackened Teeth by Cassandra Shaw. Cast is all unlikeable and all seem to hate each other, despite being friends for years.
And felt the writing was pretentious by overuse of similes, and big words.
And just full of cliches.
