Attended the No Gas Plant Coalition meeting this evening...a big priority for this upcoming legislative session is to get a bill passed that requires data centers to provide their own (clean) power; they're also looking to get bills through promoting rooftop solar (housing, commercial, parking lots)

This article is from September of last year but still relevant as #Virginia regulators continue to ignore the health dangers of "forever chemicals" in biosolid waste that farmers use as fertilizer on their fields. virginiamercury.com/2024/09/26/i...
Is sewage sludge laced with 'forever chemicals' contaminating Va. farmland? No one's testing it. • Virginia Mercury
It’s out of sight and out of mind, and it might just be killing people. For decades, American factories have been sending their wastewater to municipal sewage treatment plants across the country, whic...

When politicians say high speed rail is too costly, they’re lying. What stands in the way are capitulation to those companies who stand to lose from efficient mass transit (*cough*Big Oil*cough) and selective NIMBYism.

Richmond DSA will be holding it’s monthly General Meeting this coming Thursday, 6pm at Gold Lion Community Cafe to discuss the recently approved rental inspection program, efforts to rebuff the city’s attempts to weaken collective bargaining rights of RPS employees, and other issues. #RVA

Democrats preferring to lose elections than give progressives any kind of say in their agenda tells you everything you need to know about the Democratic Party: they are a center-right party, if we’re being honest. America’s “choice” of parties is a charade and a fraud.

Fitting image to sum up this regime: stand idly by looking impatient and annoyed while other people rush to help someone who had a medical issue.
This is officially one of the strangest pictures in American history, and I do not doubt that it will be considered iconic a hundred years from now.

100% serious here.

For the first time in as long as I can remember, #Virginia now has an Attorney General not in the pocket of Dominion Energy!

Just pleased as peas thinking about all the billionaires and climate demons absolutely losing their sh*t in New York tonight

— and all the working people who feel a bit of hope, a moment of joy, and maybe a little more seen.

No matter what the results tonight, the hard work goes on regardless. Spanberger will need to be pushed to restrict data centers and make it easier to build out renewable energy infrastructure

Hurricane Melissa set a record for strongest wind gust on Earth and yet Trump and his Republican allies held a lavish party at the White House costing taxpayers millions of dollars, and you know Big Oil execs were at that party. It’s long past time to tax billionaires in proportion to their profits

252 mph wind gust just observed inside Hurricane Mellisa in the southeast eye wall. Exceptionally (record) warm ocean water sitting underneath this storm, supplying it with unlimited fuel. Ocean water made hot by greenhouse gas-induced climate change. Oil & gas companies need to be held accountable

Hurricane Melissa is now the 9th strongest hurricane on record in the Atlantic Ocean with wind gusts approaching 215 mph. Glaciers continue melting at an ever-accelerating rate. Yet this regime persists in dismantling renewable energy infrastructure and incentives. Vote Republicans out on November 4
