though it’s been more diplomatic than military. Still, they’ve done more for the oppressed, especially Palestine, than many others in the so-called BRICS+.

In today's geopolitical climate, the ONLY WAY to ensure true sovereignty &protect against potential U.S. aggression is to adopt a strategy similar to North Korea's; focusing on strong self-defense i.e nuclear capabilities.
Without such deterrents, the U.S (under a dictator) will do as it pleases.
