January is cold and dark - and added to that we feel the need to punish ourselves for the lovely time we’ve had over Christmas. No wonder it can be a miserable month! I’m all for self improvement - but even so, we can still be kind to ourselves. 3/4

Delicious food, reading by a fire, hot chocolate, lighting candles - all hygge! It doesn’t have to be extravagent. Just small moments of peace and warmth. My mum gave me this book by @MeikWiking a few years ago and I love it. It made me realise I’ve always had a hygge soul! 2/4

Instead of Dry January, I’ve decided to do ‘Hygge January.’ Will it catch on?! Here’s my thinking: January can be a slump because the twinkle of Christmas is over - but so many of the joyful things associated with Christmastime can continue throughout winter … 1/4

4 years ago I had my first ever thing published - a short story in a children’s magazine ❤️ It’s been one helluva journey since then! 2 pieces of advice I would give new writers: explore different genres and story lengths … and send, send, send your work out! #writingcommunity #booksky

I think Sainsbury’s haven’t thought about all the children being dragged round supermarkets who can read, but still believe in Father Christmas. In other shops gifts like this are called ‘mini gifts’ or ‘Xmas gifts’. I think ‘stocking fillers’ is a bit of a spoiler 😢
