So it stems from a lot of psychological horror/modern fantasy/Lovecraftian dysmorphic weirdness (I know, he was terrible but we did that queer thing we do so well, take a terrible persons kernel and make it bigger & better) and explores the depths of the mind, madness, and soul. Highly recommend
