Agreed on both counts! I try to issue sincere compliments whenever possible - you never know how much it'll brighten a person's day :)

It truly is SO HARD to learn to gracefully accept a compliment. Still working on that, in my mid-forties...

- Mesh/crochet/chiffon pieces can work well to add interest and dimension
- A good, sturdy pair of boots is necessary if you intend to wander off the beaten path
- If in doubt, I would love to help you shop/Posh for appropriate things!

From SoCal, adore the desert , and definitely less goth than I used to be, but:

- SUN PROTECTION (sunscreen, hats, ludicrous sunglasses)
- natural fibers, flowing silhouettes (structured may not do well with sweat)
- accessorize: think silver, interesting stones, skulls, a colorful accent...

They literally don't give a shit about us until the delays stack up. Those headlines and poll numbers scared people...but the grim realities about our staffing/workload, whatever, that's all fine 🙄

It's honestly not even about the money...

(and I KNOW how privileged I am, to be able to say that)

...it's more about how it shows the SecDOT's fundamental misunderstanding of how we bid and use leave, and about how it's absolutely a "divide and conquer" tactic being wielded on our workforce.

Someone asked me the other day if I would be retiring as soon as I'm eligible. But I'm less and less confident that I even want to go that long.

My tuxedo boy will play fetch with small felt balls :)
