12 months left in the summer, not sure he’ll be an asset for saints for much longer (nor would we able to command that big a fee, given length of contract)

I might if I had sterling’s wealth already? How much do you really need etc? but again, it’s all a choice players can make, no judgement on what they should / shouldn’t do.

This is the key. Players will moan about game time / opportunities. But they never want to give up a penny of that money. Sterling could play for any number of clubs and play every week. But none of those clubs will pay near anywhere near the wage he has at Chelsea. I criticism - it’s a job etc

The older players have little incentive to agree to them is the drawback I guess? If Raheem knows he has 1 good year left, he wants that 4 year deal on big wages. He’s cooked if club can dump him after 1-2 years

Which players came through the academy during that period? Lallana was already known quality. Shaw / Chambers didn’t play until PL.
JWP didn’t play until I think the champo promo season.

Jury very much out at the moment. Let’s wait and see. Main thing is - I’d just like to see us be hard to beat and attitude to be right.

We’ve certainly got the players to. Obviously way to go, but already feels like 2 from 3 for auto. Ipswich are a lock if McKenna stays I think. Then depends on us v Birmingham. Leicester I’m assuming get circa -20. I dont fear Selles and think Cov will regress. Norwich will be lively outsiders.
