Extremely proud of myself for walking my first 5K event in a while. I'm gearing up for the Spring Disney 5K in April so this is a good way to see where I am.

I'm incredibly sore the day after, but I'm just happy that I was able to persevere and cross that finish line.

I'm elated to share my debut publication in the journal 'Modern Haiku'!

Finished my Kundalini #yoga class half an hour ago and I feel rejuvenated! This feeling of relaxation and yet being awake and alert.

This class allowing this duality of sensation to happen is just the thing I needed to let out all this pent up energy that I've been holding on to and letting it go.

The inspiration behind this #senryu came from observing the motions &sounds as my parents portioned their #medicine into pill organizers for the next week; drew a parallel to memories playing mancala as a kid

My senryu poem: mancala - my parents sort medicines into pill boxes Originally published in Haiku Netra Issue 1.4 December 2023 Background (stock image I found online): A cropped image of a mancala board with 12 holes on the top and bottom, each filled with stones of varying amounts. Not familiar with the term senryu? Senryu is basically a form of haiku poetry that highlights human interaction whereas haiku focuses on nature. This is a poor discretion of the differences between haiku & senryu, but I hope it helps a little 😅

Took advantage of the really pretty day- I enjoyed a couple of glasses at one of my favorite vineyards. Got a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio

I'm an emerging haiku poet with roughly 20 poems published across 9 different journals & zines =^-^=

I don't have any books yet (that's a work in progress); however, I'll share with y'all the haiku that made truly me feel (w/ respect to the other publications) legitimate as a poet.

After a long work week, I opened a new bag of espresso and I'm absolutely in love with it.

I picked up the floral tropical fruit notes right away on the nose as it says on the tasting notes.

When I took my first sip, I picked up red wine (which I loved!!) with a rooibos tea aftertaste.

So good!

This poem was my debut in the Frogpond - an aspiration of mine since I rediscovered #haiku from a Google+ feedback group, Haiku Nook.

This haiku was inspired by my #memory of a high school field trip to the Rodin Museum in Philly.

I remember sitting in the front yard during the peak of the eclipse watching the moon cover the sun (80% for me), it was absolutely memorizing. Something tells me a lot of poems were written on that day - I'm glad this #haiku is one of them

Day 2 of the Cape May Jazz Festival - I've discovered so many incredible bands, it's been absolutely incredible! From sets that have been silky smooth, to energetic and powerful, to psychedelic, I feel my mind has been blown again and again...and I'm looking forward to even more!
