Brought #SammyCat in for her semi-annual check up (at ~21 years old it's good to get the oil checked a and a tune-up a little more frequently). We wait for bloodwork as we monitor her balky thyroid and her kidneys. But all in, still just going with her own flow.

In non-sad cat news, today marks the 19th year Ms. Sammy has been a part of our lives.

it is the small moments, the everyday routines where we feel it the most. Within the sadness is joy and gratitude that such a little goofy guy can leave such a feeling of emptiness in the house now that he's gone.

But there's no way we could have given LemmyCat as much extra time as we did w/o the help of pet insurance. But it enabled us to keep getting the meds & specialist care he needed to be happy & comfortable for as long as he could be.

Surgery went great. Tradition dictates that post-surgery care starts with Time & Tide lattes. Now home resting and snuggling with the cats. In a few months we'll know the status.

Nor has a surgery today, this time tackling some challenges she been dealing with off & on for the past 14 years. last time she had surgery (2 years ago) we snagged a pre-game Elements americano and it turned out well. so we're doing it again bcs superstition. hoping for the outcome we want 🙏💚🤞

My local gin joint (an actual Gin Distillery) put my favorite mocktail on the menu. I've sampling this for a couple of months while it was in development. It's sensational, made with spruce tips so it's delicious and feels Christmasy. And it's called "Pitch, Please!" which is perfect.
