Always trying to clear the never-ending backlog and the MiSTer only made it worse.

Huge fan of visual novels, survival horror, JRPGs, Gundam, and Kamen Rider.
I have a habit of keeping receipts for all of my games and it's funny to see how long some of these have just sat untouched on my shelf.

I bought this in 2016 and this is my first time playing it.

Now that I got my Star Fox Zero fix for the year, time to start the real reason I brought out the Wii U.

Thankfully, everything still works.

I said fuck it and started disassembling it and fortunately the issue was just a poorly seated ribbon cable.

Now crossing my fingers and hope the NAND hasn't gone kaput.

Game #32

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner - Mars (PC)

I went in with high expectations after seeing it on quite a few favorite games lists but it just didn't click with me. There's a few cool moments but the combat and most levels weren't fun for me.

and wow that English script is rough

Zone of the Enders (PS2, replay)

I remember not liking it back then and I'm still not a fan. The game looks and runs well and Jehuty's design is sick but the game is lackin-OH HELL YEAH IT COMES WITH A MGS2 DEMO!!!

Game #30

Fatal Frame III: The Tormented (PS2)

The most interesting of the series I've played so far with really cool ideas, both good and bad. The combat has improved from 2 with more challenging ghosts and exploring the manor is fun until a time constraint mechanic occurs late in the game.

"Mars"

I guess it's time to finally play it.

This photo I took in Fatal Frame 3 looks less like a scary ghost and more like a photo from a scene girl's MySpace page.

Thief VR launches on December 4, 2025 at $29.99 on Steam, PSVR2, and Quest.

There's a pre-order discount at $26.99 but you can get it cheaper for PC through GreenManGaming with the code "OCT15" which makes it $25.49.

If you're a GreenManGaming Gold XP member, it's $23.99.

I really wanted to get back into reading and since I don't have a bookstore within 50 miles, I decided to pull my old Kindle Keyboard out of storage and replaced the battery and then I got a Fire HD 10 tablet off of Woot for $35 for the sole purpose of reading manga.

Here's my Top 100 Games Of All Time (as of 2025).

It took quite a bit of time to narrow down the proper order and there's still many more games I've yet to play that I'm sure will make their way onto the list in the future.

The day Dollar Tree stops selling these is the day I will become a barely functioning husk of a man.

Game #29

Blade & Sorcery (PCVR via Quest 2)

One of the best feeling VR games I've played with a ton of mod support. The combat, magic, and climbing is just pure bliss and its become my go-to stress relief game.

My only complaint is that the campaign is a bit basic and lacking in variety.

Interview With The Vampire - Seasons 1 & 2

I was only familiar with the 1994 film before watching but I found this to be an insanely good adaptation. The cast is perfection and I really liked the adjustments made to the change in time period.

I really need to read the books now.

Serial Experiments Lain (1998)

While technically it's not my first time seeing it as I watched it when I was like 10, the only thing I took from it back then was the imagery and mood of the show.

Now in my 30s, I came away with a better understanding but not resonating with it whatsoever.

There is a Queen Mansa kit but it's really hard to find, it was part of a pre-painted 1/400 scale line for mobile armors like the Big Zam and Alpha Azieru.

I have the Alpha Azieru one and it's about a foot tall and looks really good next to my RG Nu and Sazabi.

I have to ask, are you watching The Lone Gunmen at some point since its finale is a Season 9 X-Files episode?

Next up on my spooky games to play for October is Fatal Frame III: The Tormented for PS2!

This is the one Fatal Frame game I know nothing about and it's been sitting on my shelf for a long time. I paid $17.99 for it according to the receipt I kept from back then when used games prices were normal.

Game #28

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly (PS2)

A more polished experience but lacking the challenge the first game had. Still a ton of fun to fight ghosts and take in the somber atmosphere but I think I prefer the first game overall.

Excited to see how the remake turns out.
