Love XC skiing with Wausau Nordic Ski Club, road biking with Wausau Wheelers, Marathon County Historical Society, geology, and reading avidly.
This video isn’t the best depiction of the northern lights, but turn the volume up all the way and listen to the coyotes yipping (plus a siren) during the first part. Don’t know what made them yip, but I like to think it was the northern lights.

A fine pair of Pileated Woodpeckers at our feeder. Now that I’ve removed the jelly feeder for the Catbirds and the hornets are no longer around to pester birds, the woodpeckers can enjoy suet at their ease.

Not brightly colorful nor often seen, the Gray Catbird is one of my favorite summer migrants to Wisconsin. Here a pair take turns at their baths.
