Much better conditions today at Saddington but notably less bird wise. Drake Goosander and a rather small, grey looking Song Thrush. Not a regular bird here in my experience and am not suggesting T. p. philomelos but certainly an unusual looking bird…

It was just getting light when I arrived at Saddington and lots of gulls leaving so the reservoir seemingly still supports a roost of some sort? Lots of BHG and plenty of Common Gull which are always regular here…

A fairly uneventful early doors at Saddington. A few Gadwall with lots of Teal and Wigeon. While counting the Teal I glimpsed what can only have been a Bittern in the reeds behind but can’t be 100%. Just needed a couple more seconds. Gave it another 35 minutes but wasn’t to be today sadly…

Never been to Melton CP before but decent Lapwing flock heading over the town and a few bits of interest. 2 L Egret, Teal, Gadwall, Wigeon, Little Grebe and quite a few Common Gull. Lots of (recently arrived?) Goldcrest in virtually every bit of cover…Lots of people but nice site
