Yoshitaka Amano's presence sometimes gets downplayed but it really shouldn't, his early image boards are so important to how the look came together

That intersection of old Lupin ideas/kernels of Patlabor ones is also just really neat

It's a really specific thing that a lot of people bounce off of, and I can't blame them, but I think it's worth seeing if you have the chance, just because there is so little else like it in anime.
