Unfortunately it’s a massive area & all the ditches have dried out & an elderly chap told me he’s never seen it so dry in 75 years. Rain is finally forecast this weekend in East Anglia but it’s unlikely to make much difference to the Chalk Aquifer’s ☹️

Unfortunately I can’t make it rain ☹️The whole of West Norfolk is in severe drought conditions & still drought restrictions haven’t been implemented 🤯

It’s been reported to the Environment Agency but little being done to save it🤔unfortunately King’s Lynn Borough Council has control and aren’t bothering to clear the rubbish🤔The IDB could easily pump water into from the nearby river @gaywoodriver.bsky.social

Another similar situation developing on the Long Pond in King’s Lynn Water level so low that🐟are in distress & Phosphate/Ammonia very high

It’s been a terrible year for our ponds brooks & ditches☹️the drought has been prolonged & I’ve watched far too many dry up including One which hadn’t ever dried up resulting in the death of Swan Mussels which were over 50-60 years old

I’ve got a confession to make🙄I don’t like them & this belongs to a friend who was working on a film set & they were going to chuck it in a skip I prefer the Native Shuttlecock Fern easy to grow & hardy 🙂

That’s harsh have you cut all the leaves off ? Personally I’d just stuff straw into the top or something similar & tie up the leaves to hold it in place & then cover with a Polypropylene bag Live in Norfolk & not done until the end of November

My pet Hornets 🐝 they stated building in July & it’s probably filled the Tawny Owl 🦉 box I thought I better share on here as I’ve lost a lot of friends from X which is getting odd now as I rarely see Tweets from people I follow & even people who I’ve tagged don’t sometimes see my posts ☹️

Yup I did & personally I prefer Wisteria grown against a wall as it offers protection from late frost which can destroy every flower bud on exposed standards

😢Breaks my heart as these House Martins have returned to their 🪺site to discover the house has been modernised & there excluded from the eaves☹️Hedges ripped out & pond filled in & 🏠is now a holiday home Last year they were 5🪺here & the new owners complained about the mess🤯
