Its aged brilliantly, I think... but a pity its so hard to find over here. I think @arrowvideo.bsky.social had blu ray version for a very limited period on a double with Withnail and I, but that's no longer available and all I can find are second hand dvds... absolute shame... needs to rediscovered.

(Also the bit with his grandfather and the wallaby in 1918, I'd completely forgotten about and it is absolutely superb... I utterly lost it watching that scene last night...)

It really is -- its aged brilliantly and its a criminal shame its so hard to find here in the UK. Ironically of course, I can imagine marketing depts having massive difficulty knowing how to pitch the movie... probably gave them all stress boils trying to...

And don't get me started on "I'm your AI assistant" when you call certain hotlines... and of course they never ever understand Scottish accents so you have to talk to them for five minutes before they finally give up and pass you onto hold forever for a human...

There's a certain Scottish based beer company who do great offers but when you try and cancel or change your order, you're forced to call a number that they rarely answer and when they do, they talk over any attempts to cancel... Never using em again.

The general viewing public don't really give a toss, I think. They just want a good story. As with the Craig reboot, if the story and style etc are good enough, they'll roll with it.
