Field sketches of a Curlew at Old Moor RSPB a few days ago, with colour added later. Not seen many autumn birds here so it was nice to study this one in the morning sunshine. Cheers #WorldShorebirdsDay #BirdArt #Birding

Recent Lapwing studies from RSPB Old Moor. My favourite time of year to really get to grips with these is in the autumn when they spend a lot of time resting and preening on Wath Ings. With little else to engage at it was a case of 'making do'. 😊

A few more sketches from SE Turkey. Upcher's Warblers were surprisingly easy to see and were proper posers! My first Cinereous Bunting for 20 years in the same habitat. Roller and Iraq Babbler at Birecik - the latter one of six lifers. Cheers

Up in the Scottish Borders and Northumberland for a few days and did that rarest of things last night: a seawatch! A steady stream of Manxies going north here at Eyemouth were the undoubted highlight. Not seen them for years. Lovely. #Birding
