A catastrophic lack of self-awareness seems to be trait on the hard-right. We've got a bunch of notable right-wingers over here that display that same characteristic all the time.

Something I heard ages ago so could or not be true but the reason Americans drive on the right is that during the War of Independence, the British marched on the left of the road or pathway so as a bit of an eff you, the Americans swapped to the right.
