Method of choice even in resource constrained contexts (ie not enough housing) . the counter reactions to housing first tend to be cruel, punitive and ineffective in my opinion. Which you’re seeing in DC

Address short term emergency needs and fixing the longer term housing needs simultaneously. I would probably fall into the camp of “we haven’t really tried enough housing first” to me it’s rarely been attempted in earnest with all the resources to be successful. I think it can and should be the

I think harm reduction and housing first are really complementary. I wouldn’t say that supporting harm reduction without housing solutions is bad, but you can’t really expect housing outcomes, just less harm and better public health outcomes. Ultimately I think multiple angles of attack are key.

take a long time (not to mention time to build to increase stock). It's not unrealistic that if voter were told "$X solves the issue" and in some contexts that may actually pass. it could be really detrimental if it failed to address the problem because more systemic things, like stock and

Focusing on $$ alone ignores access to affordable housing. Without sufficient stock of affordable housing money alone cannot solve the problem. "it costs 50k to house someone" fails if there is nowhere to house them. Policy changes that increase affordability and housing stock are much less sexy and
