Shortly after this photo was taken and I had shouted Eagles at the top of my voice to an empty Athletic Club Bilbao stadium security appeared and asked me to think about my choices in life and why had I climbed into the seats that were roped off. You can the man out of Croydon!

Just watched “Crystal Palace: Coppell the early years” on YouTube (highly, highly recommend) I’m coming out of it with a very different view of Mr Crystal Palace Jim Canon. I have always respected him and I know times have changed but that doesn’t cut it with me, no excuse youtu.be/-0jW_n0r4as

On 3 September 2014, Andy Johnson signed for Palace for the second time on a short-term contract on a free transfer, but didn’t play. He and was given some coaching responsibility with academy players. These days he can be seen around the club on match days as an ambassador.
