Went out over the weekend and was lucky, sun was shining lighting up the last days of autumn. Since then heavy rain and wind has stripped much of the beech tree glory. Attached are three views of a bridge in the New Forest.

Three different views of the New Forest UK 1) autumnal colours in a Beech/Oak Copse 2) the long, road along which far too many drivers use unsuitable speeds considering that wildlife cross them, often with no warning and 3) a path through stands of Silver Birch after rain

Walking through the woods admiring and photographing the autumnal nature of the place over the weekend when first one Fallow Deer crossed the path, and once you see one you know there will be more, 6 at least.

One scruffy looking New Forest 'Stumpy' a Shetland I assume. Quite often you can come across a small herd of this breed together. Other times, like here, an individual attaches itself to a family group of full size New Forest Ponies.

The sun shines through the autumnal Beech trees of one of the New Forest UK enclosures the wide path winds away and people play among the fallen leaves.

A couple more macro shots of a tiny, purple, Vetch (Pea Family) and the feathery stigma of a deep purple Tulip.

These 4 images are designed to be stitched together to form a panoramic shot of this small area of grass and marsh between mixed woodland on the right (out of shot) and the Avon Water River on the left behind the row of trees. Bluesky doesn't like panoramas 😳

Continuing the wet flower theme, on the left, dressed in purple, we have a doubled Daisy. With many petals to catch the drops of water. On the right the seed head of Clematis, which look pretty anyway, but like this, glinting in the sun, quite gorgeous.

After the rain overnight yesterday my camera took a walk round the garden and found many lovely things, flowers, to photograph.
Here the pale ping Kaffir Lily and the deeper colour with a yellow heart of Cosmos.

A Shield Bug on a pink flower and covered in rain drops. I saw this, fortuitously, while photographing flowers. What a pretty find.

A pair of macro shots from earlier in the year on the theme of Purple. The first is one of my favourite (this is awkward really as I have so many favourites) wild flowers a lover of moist places and a 'wild' Wallflower, with Hoverfly, lover of the opposite

This first on I have absolutely no ideas and I have never seen one like it before. The second is I think Honey Fungus again doing a fine job of killing this Birch Tree and the last is a small group of Russulas, this one is easy for me to remember 😂 though not all Russulas are red 😊.

Likely to be the first in a series of shroom posts. This is a year of great abundance. I don't know why. I was expecting scarcity after the long, dry, summer period, but no. Walking in broadleaved woods today and it was difficult to avoid stepping on them.

Three images of Blac-headed Gulls in winter plumage, i.e. sans black (well brown) head dancing above the water at Keyhaven Harbour. It's the angles that the wings make that delights me as these birds descend on whatever has caught their interest.

Little Egrets, now common around the coasts and inland waterways of the UK a success story from the last 20 years.
I've been trying, unsuccessfully for some time to get this kind of spread wing image. It all came together today so very pleased.

Yesterday defeated the gloomy predictions of the weather forecast allowing my to enjoy time at the coast photographing birds like this Kestrel, a first for me although I've been hoping to photograph one of these delightful Windhovers for a long time. Next when hovering ☺️!
