5) he is a strong side platoon middle infielder. those are rare and thus very valuable. theoretically you should be able to pair him with a weak side platoon middle infielder for cheap and generate very strong production.

4) he is a very consistent hitter. his best year wrc+ 127; worst year wrc+ 115. his 119 wrc+ last year would have made him the 9th best qualified SS at the plate. good value.

3) albies is in his walk year. if you decide BD isn’t good enough defensively to play long term 6 you can easily slot BD in as the everyday 4.

2) is he going to be great defensively? no probably not. but his defensive metrics have been very up and down. this gives you a 1 year trial run of what he looks like as the everyday 6. if you like it you can extend him.

what a disaster. his term at AG was l a massive failure at his most important tasks.

it’s a little strange navigating between different sports in classic apple-y ways, but mostly it succeeds because it doesn’t try to do too much. it has become my go to app this fall.
