The same is certainly true for NBA MVP races as well. It turns out that the only important stats are the ones that support their player's case, at least according to the fanbases.

Preach, TK. When ESPN first changed it a few days ago, I thought it had to be a temporary bug because nobody could intentionally design something so horrible.
