Was the issue the traffic lights? They do appear to be working as they should be, including the cyclist lights at the same time as the pedestrian phase...

Painting some cycle symbols facing the other way would also be a cheap way to highlight this.

At the recent council drop-in session at the corner of Packington St and Prebend St to discuss improvements, I requested that at the very least the big arrows painted on the surface of Packington St could be offset as too often big cars drive right down the middle effectively at oncoming cyclists.

Fair enough - I also use the roadway as more direct and the shared path is narrow, but find seeing what’s coming from the west side of St Paul’s Road when heading north quite challenging, so interesting to see what could be done.

If that does end up the southern route, I hope one day they get to improving the crossing of St Paul’s Road to something like the new Essex Road one if space allows. The shared path section towards the signalled crossing is so poor.
