From my collection, Dragon Wings 1:400 scale Swissair DC-10-30. In 1981, I visited the United States for the first time. My ride on the occassion from ZRH-GVA-JFK was a one of these newly "Chocolate Stripe" liveried DC-10s.

Aircraft carrier Taiho was the first class of Japanese carriers with a heavily armoured flight deck. Belatedly commissioned in March 1944, she was sunk 4 months later as a result of poor damage control.

While the new generation is learning about Oppenheimer for the first time thanks to the superlative Christopher Nolan, the best work on Oppenheimer and the trajectory of nuclear physics between 1900-1960 is Robert Jungk's brilliant book Brighter than a Thousand Suns.
