This is a very good deconstruction of whatever it is Galloway is trying to sell us.

There are good observations throughout, but this one seems insightful to me. Galloway is responding to men's need to feel in charge as the "provider."

Well it can't be the robotaxi capabilities because Tesla is still at self-driving level 2, whereas Waymo is at 4.

Here's an article where elon says they'll roll out robotaxis in 8-10 metro areas in 2025.

But he's been saying self-driving level 5 will be available soon for at least five years.

If OpenAI was sending all that money to Oracle, why would Oracle need to run up all this debt?

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy is undertaking an initiative to reduce what he has described as an excess of bureaucracy at the company, including by reducing the number of managers. He installed an anonymous complaint line for identifying inefficiencies that has elicited some 1,500 responses and over 450 process changes, he said earlier this year. Jassy said in June that the increased use of artificial intelligence tools would likely lead to further job cuts, particularly through automating repetitive and routine tasks.

A chart of the technology hype cycle as defined by the analyst firm Gartner. The chart shows customer expectations on the Y axis and time on the X axis. Customer expectations tend to soar when a technology is new, reaching what Gartner calls the "peak of inflated expectations". Once customers realize the technology cannot do everything that was promised, the expectation curve declines until it reaches the "trough of disillusionment", which means many customers have given up on the technology altogether. Over time, expectations rise to an appropriate level as people come to understand what the technology is or isn't good for.

Guy who created the AI bubble warns we are in an AI bubble
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman thinks the artificial intelligence market is in a bubble, according to a report from The Verge published Friday. “When bubbles happen, smart people get overexcited about a kernel of truth,” Altman told a small group of reporters last week. “Are we in a phase where investors as a whole are overexcited about AI? My opinion is yes. Is AI the most important thing to happen in a very long time? My opinion is also yes,” he was quoted as saying. Altman appeared to compare this dynamic to the infamous dot-com bubble, a stock market crash centered on internet-based companies that led to massive investor enthusiasm during the late 1990s.

So yeah, I do feel the basic argument of the article is vindicated. Although there were probably more pleasant ways to demonstrate it"

Saw this sales flyer today for my local gun mega store
A weekly sales flyer from a large gun store in Cobb County GA. The front page advertises a flamethrower with "King of the cul-de-sac!" in large red font and a list of practical applications in a much smaller font. The flyer claims using a flamethrower to clear snow is "more fun than shoveling" which sounds reasonably accurate.
