I spoke with a therapist this week about feeling... Numbing despair. I told him i usually respond to trauma with a flight or flight response, very active. He said that "Freeze" is another response to danger, like an animal freezes when being hunted. I think, collectively, that's what we've felt.

Many of us have felt paralyzed, despondent. I've never felt this way before. Ever. Because we were American, and we all had a say.
Now we don't.
A therapist today explained our response and it made complete sense:
We are not in flight. Or fight.
We are in freeze. Like a bunny in the headlights.

Today while lying in a field because I just could not stand up.
