Really, the best business to be in is to have a game that's already been a hit for the last half-decade plus, or remake/remaster old games that can resell players their youth.
Everything else, like making a new game, is more like trying to win the lottery. Not great!

Had a long convo last night about the problems facing the games industry, and one of the issues I raised is that games have calcified. Just look at the Top 25 games by concurrent players on Steam Charts sometime. Many of them were released more than five years ago. GTA V is on there twice.
