I live and teach in WV. It's heartbreaking, and the voters chose, and consistently continue to choose, the very people who work against them.

Such a complex issue when all of us teachers suffer from unfair wages... But adjusting by cost of living isn't a terrible plan to keep talented and dedicated educators. But only when politicians value public education will we see livable wages.

Most of my students cannot vote. Their younger siblings cannot vote. Yet they're trying to forge a better path for themselves, and they have no agency here.

I teach high school in WV. Most of my students achieve high scores but can neither afford lunch nor attend college without significant financial aid. We will suffer.
