Denkt nicht, daß die Völker der Vergangenheit von euch so verschieden waren. Der Unterschied ist immerhin nicht immer das beste heuristische Geräth. Die frühneuzeitlichen Menschen hatten ihre eigenen einzelnen Subjektivitäten und sie waren uns deshalb nicht unähnlich.

Wir können die Verdrängung nur als eine Herrschbegierde nicht betrachten, sie ist aber ein thätiger Theil von der Geschlechtsidentitätsbildung.

Almost done with my second read-through of "Idea for a Universal History", this time in the original German. Slow but fecund progress, and the connexions between Kant's universal cosmopolitanism and Marxian universalism are evident. Contemporary Kant would have been a Marxist.
