I read there was a release of chlorine gas from the water treatment plant which required evacuation from both the North Rim and down in the canyon. The article said that the gas and gusty winds prevented dropping retardants although water drops were made. Wish I had a link for you, sorry I don’t.

Consider how different journalism in its text, photographic & film forms was in 1967. Live news feeds limited to just a few stations. Text still being typed & wired globally to be printed, and film or tape being flown in for developing and use. Photojournalism was more difficult & took more time.

Anecdotal, but my daughter was diagnosed with ME/Cfs in 2003. Some meds over the years caused severe overreactions. A MAST cell problem, is a recent issue in a long line of strong negative effects from food/environment over the years. The list of related illnesses only grows.
