Saw moe. for the second time (first was in like 2006) last night. The show was fantastic. Definitely jumping on this bandwagon and not missing them whenever they’re in town. Here’s the only pic I took.

This is me chilling, enjoying the camping hammock life. This is also me waiting patiently for the bathrooms to reopen from the one hour they’re closed because I had two huge cups of coffee and a large breakfast.

Went to Party with Pride at the Roger Williams Zoo last night. It was an absolute blast. Nothing but smiling faces, tasty beverages, fantastic pretzels, and animals who were happy it wasn’t stupid hot! I took one pic, of this cute elephant. The zoo is a true gem.

The Pride parade is one of the most feel good events. It was nice to see fewer corporate groups marching, fewer politicians (it’s not an election year, they’ll be back next year), and more unions and political action groups. It’d be nice if they could have a small police presence.

Mowed the lawn after doing No Mow May. Uncovered some baby bunnies and scared out a brown snake. (Yes, I know it’s still May, but it’s gonna rain and long grass takes forever to dry, so I made use of the few dry days and gorgeous weather we have right now).

The yellow-crowned night heron is still hanging out at Globe Park! So cool! #birding

Went to DC, and my favorite part was the little signs of protest against the tyrant in the White House, but the cock-n-balls monument was also cool.

My dog has a bedtime. Don’t expect her to be her normal bouncy excited self after 9 pm. She’s a good girl. #sadiepie

Next year’s race is December 6. Registration will likely open shortly after the new year. Book a room early and don’t fret if you can’t find something right away. But don’t register if you don’t intend on running.

It’s truly a destination race like no other. The area is naturally beautiful. The town embraces the runners and the event and comes out in full force to support everyone. The course is absolutely no joke with the first 6 miles being almost entirely uphill (and the rest rolling).
December 9, 2024 at 11:09 PM
The race is free with the intention that runners will spend what they’d normally spend on marathon registration in the area. The aid stations are all volunteer and have a variety of hydration and fuel, including a variety of shots, most notably Fireball.

I’ve “run” this race every year since 2018 and have experienced brutal cold, moderate cold, lots of snow, rain, and clear blue skies.

The race intentionally takes place in early December to give a boost during the shoulder season and give runners a glimpse of the Northern Maine lifestyle and unpredictable weather
December 9, 2024 at 11:09 PM
The race was created to provide an economic boost to a small town in the shadow of Katahdin that suffered a huge loss when the primary employer, the Great Northern Paper Co, shut down their paper mill in town.

The Millinocket Marathon & Half is a must-do race. But it’s not just about the race or even race day. It’s about the whole weekend. This is just a small sampling of pics from the race, the recovery run the morning after, and the party the night before.

Where the fuck was the media when he was running for president? Why did they wait to deliver hard-hitting ledes like this? Oh but Biden’s so old yet somehow Trump is not? Give me a fucking break. Do some actual reporting!

I’m disappointed no one else posted this. The single best album of the 90s.
