I can agree to that. It's hard to beat the privacy of an OS that harvests 0 data after all.

I don't use it over Linux, I use it alongside Linux. Regardless, neither of us are going to make any headway here. Have a nice night

Yeah! Use what you are used to for sure. I used to be anti-mac until I ended up running the mac ecosystem at my last company.
I actually run a host of OSes at home:
Gaming PC: Windows 11
Macbook Pro M1 Max
Homelab Server: Ubuntu 24 LTS
I also have Kali on a VM.

Each has strengths and weaknesses

I think it's poignant to look at how Apple treated the FBI when they tried to order them to write a backdoor into their device decryption. They told the FBI to kick rocks and flat out ignored them. You don't have to like them, but you should dig into this some more. I think you'll be surprised!

The M-series chips are a fantastic value. The M4 mac mini is one of the best power to price ratios you can find. They don't sell data and have built a lot of privacy features into their devices. Built in VPN, hide my email when signing up for services, all sorts of similar things

Hey man. I just think folks should use what makes them happy. And i'm pretty sure it's built on XNU kernel which uses mostly FreeBSD. Also - I'm not being contentious, but looking for clarity. What do you mean by privacy stealing? My understanding is Apple has always been strong advocates of privacy

Fully posix-certified!

I'm always surprised when someone who loves linux hates mac.

I used to be read ebook/paper books only. Now I’m pretty much audiobook only. I like being able to do other things at the same time
