The exclusion of Chinese was extremely violent. For many Asian immigrants, even Americans who’re Asian descents, rarely knew much about it. I even didn’t know more about this history until last year. Check this book out to learn more about the horrific past and its lingering effects on today.

I actually had Affogato for the first time this April after living in the US for almost a decade. I even traveled to Italy once😅It was funny that even the part-time cashier asked her coworker how to make it after I ordered. Since then, I noticed the varieties of Affogato around me, ⬇️the Matcha one

Also, including international students attending all levels of programs, over a million students are currently studying in the US.

Okay I never like using international students’ economics contributions to justify their rights to receive an education in wherever they want. But these numbers still mean something. I don’t think American edu system can afford to lose international students over night.

Fellow Chinese national scholars and students, how are we doing today?? 🥲How many times those politicians gonna ride the Chinese question for their own benefits? Not sure when they plan to reinstate the Chinese Exclusion Act in the 21st century. We shall see how things unfold very soon.😵

This is the first time I’ve seen big parrots like them in person. It’s just so cool to see them flying around!

USC OIS sent out the travel advisory to all international students this morning. I’ve seen screenshots of similar messages sent by various American universities. If ur school hasn’t done so, write to ur ISSO or OIS and ur program’s admins to express ur concerns and remind them to get prepared!
