This works fine, but if I move the extension to another file like “Person+Update.swift”, it stops working.

Is there a way to allow this, similar to protected in Java, so members stay accessible to the class and its extensions in other files?

This is beyond annoying. Apparently, Apple Mail skipped basic math class, because it clearly can’t count. Happens all the time, such a reliable app, truly.

SF Symbols is great, but I always felt something was missing.
So I started this as a little side project.

Of course, you can (and should) keep using Apple’s SF Symbols, it’s fantastic.
But there are some symbols I never touch, and others I wish existed… so I’m making my own 🙂

Converted some SF Symbols to SVG (Using Sketch), then SVG to UIBezierPath (swiftvg.mike-engel.com) and this is the result 🙃🙃🙃

✨ Playing with the new glass effects in macOS Sequoia (macOS 26)

Using GlassEffectContainer and glassEffect, I created animated “bubbles” that float and overlap while sharing the same glass surface.

The result? A smooth, living glass playground powered entirely by SwiftUI.

🚀 I’ve open-sourced a small macOS tool I use to extract .icns files from apps, files, folders, disks, and other locations.

Built with SwiftUI + AppKit, it lets you preview icons and export them as .icns

Change App Shortcuts from the Terminal

Did you know you can change the keyboard shortcuts of almost any Mac app?

Every app that has a menu (like Safari, Finder, or Xcode) lets you run actions from there, and those actions often have shortcuts.

🚨🚨🚨 Lynfo 0.9.0.1

☛ Lynfo now supports both .xcodeproj and .xcworkspace.
☛ Configure Xcode formatting shortcuts directly in Lynfo.

5) Preview changes in your code

Tap the “i” button to open a live preview of how your project will look with the new formatting settings, your code stays untouched, this is just a preview.
September 5, 2025 at 2:18 PM
4) Update configuration settings

In Lynfo, pick a configuration setting (like indentation style, spacing preference, line length) and adjust it as needed. These changes get saved directly in your .swift-format file.
September 5, 2025 at 2:13 PM
3) Start from Default Values

Once the config file is in place, Lynfo uses default Swift-formatting rules. This means you get a consistent fallback until you customize anything.
September 5, 2025 at 2:12 PM
2) Watch or Create .swift-format

If your project already includes a .swift-format configuration file, Lynfo detects it automatically, no manual refreshing needed.

If your project doesn’t include the file, press the “Create Config” button in Lynfo and it will generate the file for you.

How Lynfo Works - Step by Step

1) Open your Xcode project in Lynfo so it knows where to apply formatting.

Wow 🤯
It’s only been 10 minutes and Lynfo already has some good numbers rolling in.
Please… don’t break the site. I did not stress test for “more than 5 people at once.”

From 0 to hero in SwiftUI 🦸‍♂️

I built an app just for myself… then decided to release it into the wild.
Entirely made with SwiftUI, because apparently I enjoy pain.

I’m noticing an odd behavior when using NavigationSplitView on macOS 26.0 Beta (25A5327h).

Even with the simplest possible split view code, window resizing feels unusually choppy.
