Also seeing def coach getting blamed. For 55 mins Pumas did next to nothing. Defense looked excellent. Then the circus started, discipline, organization and players doing their job went out the window.

I don't blame def coach for a problem that was here long before he arrived.
November 17, 2025 at 5:31 PM
Agreed.

If Scotland had gone on to win this game comfortably. It papers over the cracks.

I guarantee at some point in 6Ns Scotland would've had (and likely will) a meltdown.

This needed to happen. OFC SRU won't take this opportunity to do something, but we all know they should.

Painfully obvious Scotland are a fragile team. Talent galore? Yes, mental strength when things are not going well? Not even close.

All on GT.

Has to go, he is killing Scottish rugby. That result will hurt confidence across the board.

Team has a huge mental block. They will not get over it w/a coach that hasn't solved it in 8 years.

Scotland has the talent to compete at highest levels, but they have the mental fortitude of Liz Truss.
November 17, 2025 at 4:09 PM
Yep. That mentality starts w/the coach.

It is why he needs to go.
November 16, 2025 at 5:49 PM
True, to me it is microcosm of GT's selections.

He constantly overlooks players or worse is far too loyal to players that should be on the shelf.
November 16, 2025 at 5:29 PM
Sco in last quarters of games fall apart again & again.

Esp against better teams. For some reason Eng is the exception.

Yet when they see France, Ireland, ABs, Boks etc games they will be in ...then in last quarter fall apart.

Toss in habit being in total control & doing same. GT needs to go.
November 16, 2025 at 5:27 PM
Brown is more of a classic 6. Hard carries, tackles and decent link man. He is not a natural over the ball. Ritchie is as is Douglas.

Teams will phase you to death if you cannot at least compete over the ball.

It meant every time Pumas got a foothold in 22, a try was almost inevitable.
November 16, 2025 at 5:23 PM
That said one mistake should not = team falls apart. The defense in last 20 was so poor it was hard to watch. Gaps everywhere, players making awful reads and Pumas cruising through defense like hot knife through butter.
November 16, 2025 at 5:21 PM
Real shame for him. Had the game of his life. Only for his team mates to implode.
November 16, 2025 at 5:19 PM
It isn't just the lapses. It is his selections as well.

Scotland badly need a Jackaler. Ritchie is right there. He had a great season for Scotland last year. So why is he being ignored now?

It means teams can go phase after phase w/o worrying about a turnover. That = wearing down def =tries.
November 16, 2025 at 5:17 PM
Indeed. If this was a one off, ok it happens but Scotland have routinely go in the tank in games they had total control over.

Or worse at beginning of games they go in tank for 20-30 minutes.

That is a direct reflection of GT. It happens too often for it not to be a trend.
November 16, 2025 at 5:14 PM
He was having a fantastic game up to that point. His pass led to a try and a YC. A YC that swung the match.

Scotland score already up 21? The match is over. Finn injected life and belief into the Pumas with one horrendous decision.
November 16, 2025 at 5:12 PM
Yep. Jordan also brings defensive skill set, Scotland badly needed.

Cannot fault Brace or anything else. Scotland fell apart. In a way that is deeply concerning and becoming habitual.

Teams take on the habits of their coach. If Scotland do not fire Townsend, they will never progress.
November 16, 2025 at 5:10 PM
Happened against Wales x 2. Happened against Italy. Now this.

All their structure & organization disappears. Instead, it becomes a circus of individuals not connected.

Full credit to the Pumas but make no mistake this was a catastrophic performance.

In any other world, Toonie would be gone.
November 16, 2025 at 5:08 PM
Yep. Finn started the mess. Cannot make that pass. He got away with it in first half. What makes it even more frustrating is Pumas had cover. Pass wasn't going to lead to a score.

Keep the damn ball, consolidate then go again. Instead handed Pumas a lifeline.
November 16, 2025 at 5:06 PM
Finn with one shocking decision turned that match in Pumas favor. Up 21 points in their 22, you cannot do something that risky.

OFC doesn't excuse Scotland falling to pieces.

Scotland's 22 defense is a mess. No jacklers is killing this team.
November 16, 2025 at 5:03 PM
Dobie a few wee mistakes but overall excellent. He provides a genuine threat to snipe, and his kicking has been good w/one exception.
November 16, 2025 at 4:10 PM
Aye, fair point.
November 16, 2025 at 4:07 PM
Perhaps. Just expect more from someone of BK's ability.

Been underwhelming to say the least.
November 16, 2025 at 4:06 PM
Yeah, bit concerned he keeps losing aerial battles. Scotland in general need to tidy that up.
