Aww thanks Queenie! I never thought of it that way but makes sense. 😊

There is no way in hell I would take my phone across the border.

Months ago, to protect Steve, I removed all traces of me on his social media sites from his phone. And his contact for me isn't in my legal name.

It really works well for me. I'm starting to crowd 70 so no little ones to make me feel like a single parent. I'm also very independent and have my own life. He could've retired 8 years ago but he loves being on the road.

And yes, our relationship is very good, for us. This wouldn't work for most.

If I HAD to cross, it certainly wouldn't be by air.

I have no passport so there's that too.

Oh, and Steve says I would be permanently banned if the border guard said one thing I wouldn't like.

Apparently I have an attitude and a mouth to match. Who knew?!?!?!

Oh good gods! Why would anyone get on a plane destined for the US with so few air traffic controllers manning the towers???

I'm sure there's a kickback involved.

Remember the name...

Holy lifti', a couple of those are lethal!

But yeah, the truck one was good. The next 2 owners will be scrubbing that powder out of cracks and crevices that he gave up on.😂😂😂

It makes one wonder if it was accidental or be design.
November 11, 2025 at 3:13 PM
😂😂😂

I kind of do live alone, or at least for 5 days of the week I do. I'm married to a truck driver. And if I really didn't want to share, I would have hidden both cartons deep in the chest freezer instead of just the one. 😉

Damn. I'm so very sorry to hear that. 🙁

Not surprising.

I think it's a neat rendition. I saved it yesterday to show Steve when he gets home this weekend.

I'm sure she's not the only one. I hope her progression is slow.

I come from a long line of servicemen. Several cousins and some of their kids currently, uncles in WWII, my grandmother lost brothers in WWI, all Canadian Armed Forces. The man who raised me was US Navy.

Well said.
November 11, 2025 at 11:02 AM
Oh I know.

I just find the story was...ah damn, I can't think of the word I need.

Anyhow, it's not newsworthy, it was just a complaint made public looking for I don't know, sympathy?

I would never last at the Customer Service counter at Walmart.😂

Italian American Nonnas will continue to make their own while the rest of the country will buy Barilla or some other crap from the grocery store.

So what's really going to change?
November 10, 2025 at 10:34 PM
There was no abuse of power. The border guards on both sides have the right to refuse entry to anyone for any reason, whether we like it or not.

What was she to do? Argue with them about how unfair they're being? Yeah, no, she'll get nowhere fast.
November 10, 2025 at 10:22 PM
I think it's ambitious but it's time $$$ is invested here than elsewhere.

/2 There would be no government double-dipping. And my mags and tires were going to replace what was on the car.

No problem.

I dickered more than a fair trade on mine, got some $$ taken off the newer one and drove out of there happy.

I think better deals can be had in smaller towns/cities.

/1 The Mazda dealer in Cornwall knows me well.

We traded in our 2016 CX 5 for a 2019 model. I ticked off the extra charges for air, tire surcharge and a 3rd item I can't recall. Those surcharges were already paid when the car was new.

The train is always the best.

However, hitting the metal roof at the right spot and watching that large chunk of snow smoothly slide off is the most satisfying.
November 10, 2025 at 7:46 PM
Really? I wouldn't know.
November 10, 2025 at 7:33 PM
Thanks!

I always make biscotti with cranberries and pistachios for Christmas brekky but with all the recalls on pistachios these past few months, that's off the menu this year.

Maybe I'll find a replacement in this list.
