That wasn’t serious, but rather a bit of sarcasm. Indiana is quite backwards; our governor is opposed to interracial marriage(in 2025!), and seeing Klan fliers in your driveway and neighbors with Confederate flags is the norm. Joking about it being awful is quite common around these parts.

Speaking as a Hoosier, being deported from Indiana to a South American prison wouldn’t necessarily be a downgrade.
