3D printing would probably be better than this! There was a lot of aligning flat pieces + glueing that was somewhat stressful haha

After engraving, I left the tape on and sprayed with two coats of Rustoleum 2X UltraCover Clear to prevent bleed. Then I sprayed with black Marsh Stencil Ink (this is by far my favorite to color engraved areas - bleeds a lot less than paint and doesn't feel like a plastic sheet over the wood.)

As far as getting the black markings, I covered my stained and covered my wood with blue painters tape before engraving (you can buy rolls of 12" wide blue painters tape online).

The box was made with 3/8" 'project ready' cherry wood from Ocooch Hardwoods. It was stained with Behr water-based stain (either Early American or English Chestnut - I can't remember) and sealed with water-based polyurethane.

When the scope of a project keeps growing and growing, rather than sticking to what you planned at the outset lol

Aka something you planned to last 8 sessions ends up lasting 34... Could happen to anyone......

It's bonkers. Lucas needs to take a page from my book and scope creep with every session.
