I can look at Geometric period Greek art for hours, particularly the representation of horses. They were clearly beloved and are depicted with elegance and sensitivity.

I was recently in NYC and enjoyed a morning walk on the High Line. A giant pigeon statue (titled “Dinosaur,” by Iván Argote) was brilliant accompaniment on many levels.

The moon was glowing tonight on my walk with the dog. I missed the supermoon last night because of thick fog, so I was glad to enjoy a late viewing.

I left my job yesterday and am starting a new one early in November. I will miss my coworkers and patients so much—they gave me heaps of flowers and a warm send off. I am grateful for all I learned and shared with them. I could not have asked for a better team.

I was walking the dog at midnight last night and even with the awful light pollution from a stadium and city life, I was able to see Aldebaran and some more of Taurus, as well as the Pleiades. I never know what will be visible, but it like to try.

I love the moon and stars before dawn. I caught Venus, Castor and Pollux, the Moon, and Jupiter yesterday morning. #nightsky

Things are terrible but here is evening at Sounion.

Harbor seals lounging and playing at the marina
Grey-green water and piers with boats in berths next to them; there is a yellow boundary marker in the water. Two young grey seals look at the viewer from atop the yellow marker, another young grey seal is balancing on the marker in the distance, and older grey and brown seals are resting at the end of one of the piers. I would say they were sunbathing, but there wasn’t much sun.

Greyts are wonderful. I am also a sighthound person, currently sharing the couch with this creature.
