I spent nearly every penny I had, which wasn't much coming out of school, to start work there. I remember being "allowed" to take my suit jacket off at my desk. Two years later we were all business casual, but I was ready for all the weddings to come.

I started with EDS in '96 and managed to stay through the acquisition until '04. Best years of my career when we were independent and I had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented people I've ever met. I don't miss the suits though.

Gotcha. As an author I always prefer to support the latest versions with the assumption there's something better in them. As a consumer I appreciate there is a package that does what I need. I can always add a top level package if I need something that differs from a transitive package.

The fact that your framework is 8 doesn't mean your package references have to be. There are a lot of v9 nuget packages that multi-target previous frameworks. So why not use v9 of the logging package?
