I watched #fantastic4 while in the middle of a big personal shift in perspective and VERY physically/mentally exhausted one Friday night. from what i can remember, it was a really nice film about cooperation and putting whats important to you first while tending to the issues outside of you. 8/10

Started my return to theaters this year because I heard about great original stories that no one was seeing while superhero slop was the only thing that filled the seats. What a surprise that #superman is not only a great super hero movie but one of my favorites ive seen this year. true punk rock/10

i wanted to love #materialists going into the theater and even more so after the first 40ish minutes. then the film threw out any sort of nuance take on the modern dating world and opted for "marry the poor guy".
started to humor myself by picturing this as some mcu fanfic.

#kpopdemonhunters has been the effervescent escape i desperately need right now. songs are catchy, i laughed out loud multiple times, story was solid enough that i felt satisfied with its conclusion. its still crazy to think how popular kpop has gotten in the past 15 years of me being a fan

saw #28yearslater a couple weeks ago. it good.
it felt more like a fantasy film about a young hero coming of age than a film in a zombie franchise. there where some moments that i felt where underdeveloped tho. like whats with the clips of war footage? last scene was jarring too

finally saw #GodzillaMinusOne thru streaming.
i loved it. can see why it has such a positive reputation. beautiful to see a film reward self preservation along side redemption. i did cry. there are a couple of gripes that are more nitpicky like a specific self-sacrifice trope scene but eh.

saw #Sinners in May as well i think. amazing, original, moving, fun, and a technical achievement. so many things are great about this movie my favorite being the sharp script. characters are developed fast through entertaining dialogue that respects the audiences intelligence.

watched this in May. really enjoyed it. it was so uncinematic which after so many marvel movies was a refreshing theater experience for me. stuff just happens and surprises you like what id imagine a real life war time experience to be like. 8/10 ending made me uncomfy and i love it for that
